Organisation Description

Read Easy is a not-for-profit organisation that recruits, trains and supports volunteers to give one-to-one tuition to adults who struggle with reading.
The service is delivered by local, independent affiliated groups.

A new affiliated group is being established to serve Weston-super-Mare. The group will be known as ‘Read Easy Weston-super-Mare’. The group itself will not have independent charitable status – it will be an Unincorporated Association.

Skills and Qualifications


The Coordinator needs to be an organised person with strong interpersonal skills and and a heart for adults who are unable to read. With a team of two Coordinators the weekly time commitment will be the equivalent of 1 - 2 days, with flexibility to fit in with the coaching schedule.

Own transport is an advantage - the Coordinator needs to travel to a range of coaching venues within Weston-super-Mare.


This is a demanding and very rewarding role. Supported by the management team the Coordinator has the opportunity to support and direct a team of volunteer coaches who are delivering free one-to-one coaching to adults who struggle with reading. By providing basic literacy skills through a proven programme, the lives of many adults will be transformed.
