Description

Can you spare an hour and a half every week on a weekday afternoon? We are looking for 5 volunteers (or fewer if you can commit to more than one session) to be Teatime Assistants at Early Birds Neighbourhood Nursery. You will volunteer alongside the Early Birds team to help prepare and serve tea for the nursery children and to help with clearing away afterwards.
Main responsibilities:-
To help set up the room ready for tea time
To help prepare tea (sandwiches, tea cake, beans on toast etc)
To welcome and serve the nursery children
To ensure the risk assessment for the group is complied with
Attend a three-hour child protection basic awareness training session
Hold or be willing to work towards a Food Hygiene certificate

Requirements

To be approachable, friendly manner and a desire to be helpful
To be punctual and reliable
Have the ability to understand the importance of safeguarding and health and safety procedures as they apply to the group
Have experience of food preparation or similar would be desirable but is not essential
Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate - or be willing to work towards this
Attend a Child protection Basic Awareness course or be able to provide evidence of attendance within the last three years at an equivalent course
