Do you have gardening knowledge and a passion for gardening? Could you be the person to help maintain and develop the garden and planting areas?
Main tasks:-
• To take care of the garden and planting areas
• To plant and maintain the vegetable patch
• To link in occasionally with special events
• To ensure the risk assessments are up to date and adhered to
• To attend a three-hour Child Protection Basic Awareness course
• To attend a Manual handling session
This opportunity is offered across EAST Group Children's Centres in to allow for volunteer flexibility/availability:

Organisation Description

Children’s centres provide services for families with children under five. They host drop-in advice clinics, parenting workshops, parent and toddler groups and even speech and language services. Many also host regular activities for children under five.

Volunteer applicants should have:-
• The ability to manage your own time
• The ability to work on your own initiative
• A friendly, approachable, calm, flexible
• Knowledge of gardening – vegetables and flowers
• The ability to carry out physical tasks, such as digging and weeding
• An awareness of health and safety issues


Volunteers will gain:-
