This is a flexible volunteering opportunity. Applicants should be available for a few hours a week on days to suit the applicant.


Portishead Children's Centre is looking for a volunteer to keep their resources clean, tidy and in good repair.
Main tasks:-
• To carry out regular tidy-ups and inspection of toys and resources
• To clean and repair toys and resources as necessary
• To maintain a tidy and interesting environment
• To stock take and restock play and activity resources as needed (e.g. paints)
• To clean the staff room fridge and microwave on a regular basis
• To remove, wash, dry and replace sofa covers as required
• Other general maintenance tasks as required
You will be asked to attend a two hour Health and Safety Manual Handling session, a three hour Child Protection basic awareness course and a three and a half hour baby friendly initiative session

Organisation Description

Children’s centres provide services for families with children under five. They host drop-in advice clinics, parenting workshops, parent and toddler groups and even speech and language services. Many also host regular activities for children under five.
