Volunteering begins with a short training programme. Hours are flexible, but we do recommend a minimum commitment of three hours or more on a regular basis in order that you get the most from the opportunity. Please discuss your availability with us.

Description

Are you interested in supporting clients in recovery on a 1-to-1 basis?
Could you be the person who helps a client attend We Are With You groups, social groups in the community and external appointments?
If so, we would love to hear from you.

Main tasks and responsibilities include:
Supporting clients to attend groups and engage with the activities at our main premises
Supporting clients to attend and engage with other social groups as part of their treatment or recovery
Supporting clients to attend external appointments for treatments or as part of their recovery

We Are With You supports people to change their behaviour to become the very best they can be. People come to us for support with a variety of issues which could include drug or substance use, alcohol use or worries about their mental health. We will support them though making lasting changes in their lives.

We Are With You is one of the UK's leading and largest drug, alcohol and mental health treatment charities.

You will be helping us to help people improve their lives in ways they never thought possible. Training and supervision is provided.

Organisation Description

We Are With You (formerly Addaction) support people in North Somerset with a drug or alcohol issues, as well as their families and carers.
We Provide a range of confidential & non-judgmental services including:
Professional treatment for alcohol issues
Programmes for all drugs including over the counter & prescription medication issues
Community detox and prescribing services for opiate dependence
BBV testing and vaccinations

Specialist programs for Women, Community Detox, Family and Concerned Others, Veterans and Peer-led Groups.

Practical help with issues such as signposting people re housing
Peer support groups and volunteering opportunities

Volunteers of all ages (18+) and backgrounds are welcome and are valued as much for their life experiences as for the qualifications they may hold.
We welcome those who may have come through treatment themselves and could use their personal experience for the benefit of others.
If applicable, applicants must be six months out of treatment and substance free.
