Could you put your skills and experience to good use and support our young people?
If so, please consider joining our youth club management committee.
Responsibilities could include:
supporting the running of CYP, including staff and volunteers
dealing with fundraising
assisting with administration
overseeing accounts
overseeing building maintenance
supporting youth workers running clubs for 8 – 10 year olds and 11 - 14 year olds.
Opportunities exist to take a part in the work with young people, (there are three sessions every week in term time, and all day events in school holidays, and the volunteer roles are shared on a rota basis so that no-one is expected to do more than they wish to), but attending the sessions is not essential.
Some roles could be home based, but for meetings and sessions you would need to be able to attend at the CYP cabin.
CYP works with the part-time Youth Workers to support the young people of Congresbury and surrounding areas, providing a variety of opportunities and activities to meet the needs of 8-14 year olds. Our work is funded partly by Congresbury Parish Council.
CYP promotes and supports development of teenage and adult volunteering and young people's involvement in the community.
Our current activities include:
•After school club on a Tuesday and Wednesday (Term time only).
•Youth Club session for young people, in school years 6 -11, on Wednesday evening (Term time only).
•Holiday activities during selected school holidays.
•Ad hoc fund raising events for families and young people.

There are no special skills required, but we welcome people with skills they feel they would like to share / put to good use.
We would particularly welcome people with youth work background, finance and funding experience, and Trustee experience, but support will be given to any new member wanting to learn these roles.
If you are volunteering directly supporting young people, we would like volunteers who are open minded, friendly, approachable, able to talk to children and young people on their own terms. this is essential for those wanting to join our youth work sessions.
