We are looking for someone who can spare an hour a week for up to 6 months or more. The days and times can be flexible.

Description

Can you spare 60 minutes to make a difference to someone’s life.
We are looking for volunteers 18 years and over across North Somerset to visit people 60 years + living in Sandford, Winscombe, Banwell, Langford and Churchill on a weekly basis.

Loneliness can affect all of us at some point in our lives the older we become the higher the risk of becoming lonely and isolated.

On building a companionship with someone 60 years and over, the rewards are endless, with enriching social contact for both. You can choose to spend your visits having a chat, playing cards/board games the choice is yours.

All our volunteers are DBS checked and given the necessary training.

No previous experience required.
Reliability - able to volunteer on a regular basis.
Social and Caring Nature - Interest and adaptability to the needs of people 60 years and over, who may live alone.
Patience and Kindness
Good communication
Active listener
A willingness to attend induction and group support/training sessions when required.
