We do not ask for set times we encourage volunteers to work when current volunteers are at Pier view which is carried out on mainly a Wednesday and Friday afternoon and all day over the weekend weather dependent. Supervision will be given until the volunteer feels capable and the supervisor can advise the new volunteer has suitable training to work with others.

Description

Volunteering in support of Friends of the old Pier and the Birnbeck Regeneration Trust in roles at Birnbeck Pier which include:

Running of Pier View where donations are collected for cups of coffee, tea, cakes, soft drinks and branded merchandise.

Supporting regular social events which are run to raise awareness of the project including quarterly fairs, music events and quiz nights.

Distributing and collecting of charity collection tins in and around businesses in Weston and the local area.

Developing and managing funding applications to grant providers, if you have a way with words and structuring documents this could be an area where you wish to help.

Supporting the heritage team at public presentations where you can learn how to give talks to the public and share the history of the pier.

Grounds maintenance if this is your skill then join the team to work on the buildings and areas the trust hold a lease which will include maintenance of buildings and ground works or paths and grassed areas.

You will make new friends and be involved in saving a historical pier to be made open to all for the future generations we look forward to welcoming you to be part of the team.
