Passionate about health and social care services? Experienced in digital communication? Join us as a volunteer.

We're looking for a volunteer to assist our Communications Lead with developing and updating content for Healthwatch websites and social media platforms in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

This voluntary role may also involve helping create digital and printed publicity materials, as well as researching and suggesting ideas to promote Healthwatch locally.

As a volunteer you'll have the opportunity to put your skills into practice in a busy work environment, supporting our friendly team to raise awareness of Healthwatch and encourage people to tell us about their experiences of health and social care.

This is a regular role for someone who is able to commit to 2-6 hours per week with flexible home working. We ask all our volunteers for a minimum of 6 months commitment. We'll provide you with support, training and the opportunity to get creative.

We exist to ensure that people in North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire are at the heart of care.

We listen to what people like about services, and what could be improved. We then share these views with those who have the power to make change happen.

We have the power to ensure that people’s voices are heard by authorities that commission and organisations that run services.

As well as seeking the public’s views ourselves, we also encourage services to involve people in decisions that affect them.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with experience of updating websites and posting to social media to engage the public and raise awareness. Graphic design or other comms experience would be a bonus.

The Healthwatch Communications Lead will provide you with support and guidance throughout. We run a 2-hour induction session for volunteers, on-line Safeguarding training and ongoing support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator. We also have regular volunteer connect meetings so that you can meet other volunteers.

We ask for a 6 month commitment after which we can provide references.
