Description

Do you want to contribute to children’s health by marshalling at a junior parkrun event. The great thing about this volunteering opportunity is that you don’t have to sign up till the weekend of the event.

PARKRUN is a massively successful physical activity initiative that takes place across the world.

Volunteers can sign up to help whenever they have a free Sunday morning.

Roles can include marshalling at a point along the course to ensure the safety of participants, time keeping, recording finishing positions, doing a warm up or even being Run Director (extra training provided for this task).

Organisation Description

Parkrun is hugely successful across the world! It happens weekly across the country with the Adult parkrun (5K) every Saturday and junior parkruns every Sunday. Both start at 9am.

If you want to be part of this fun and amazing running/walking community then you can volunteer whenever it suits you.

Each event has its own webpage on the national PARKRUN website where all volunteers can contact the Event Director and volunteer at the parkrun they wish to help at. What is unique is that you can decide the day before the event to volunteer, It’s up to you!

You can also sign up to have notifications every time your local parkrun needs volunteers.
