Organisation Description

BRACE is a Bristol based charity with a global purpose. Our aim is to help bring about a world free from the fear of dementia. BRACE funds world-class dementia research at universities in South West England and South Wales but the beneficiaries are people all around the world.

We support medical science, as it seeks to identify the causes of dementia, achieve earlier diagnosis and develop treatments. BRACE has helped bring about significant progress since it was founded in 1987, including the announcement in 2021 of a new diagnostic tool developed in Bath.

Dementia research is still woefully under-resourced and research funding has been hit hard by the pandemic. BRACE is seeking to meet the challenge by raising more money and attracting more supporters than ever before.

The charity is entirely independent of government and big business and therefore needs the support of people like you. We have a very small staff team of 7, 5 of whom are part-time.

Thank you for your support. Together we will defeat dementia.
