Worle Community Association is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with an annual turnover of about £20,000 which runs Worle Community Centre at Lawrence Road in Worle. We are seeking a person with a financial background to succeed our present Treasurer who is retiring.
The Treasurer is normally a Trustee and is responsible for:
1. maintaining the financial records which are currently on Excel spreadsheets but may migrate to an accounting package in the future;
2. making arrangements for the identification and invoicing and banking of income due to the Association. This is largely lettings income from regular and casual; users of the Centre. Records are currently based on a handwritten diary;
3. Liaising with other Trustees on discussions with prospective new users of the Centre;
4. making payments on behalf of the Association;
5. monitoring the bank account and preparing monthly bank reconciliations;
6. Preparing the annual budget in consultation with the Trustees;
7. Reporting to Trustees, normally monthly, on actual income and expenditure compared to the budget;
8. Advising Trustees on the financial implications of any proposed activities;
9. preparing the annual accounts, arranging for their examination by an independent person and submission of the required returns to the Charity Commission following approval at the AGM;
10. Administering annual maintenance contracts;
11. Ensuring that the Association has adequate insurances;

Someone with financial experience who will control the financial affairs of the Association and report to the Trustees.
