Purpose of the role
▪ To support meeting centre members with dementia and their carers to enjoy sessions
▪ To help develop a warm and friendly meeting centre community

What you will be doing
▪ Welcoming members
▪ Helping staff set up and carry out activities
▪ Offering a friendly face and listening ear
▪ Making and serving refreshments
▪ Supporting people on trips and at events
▪ Giving people information about other services
▪ Helping clear away after sessions

Requirements

What we are looking for

• Friendly demeanour
• Good listening skills
• Reliability and punctuality
• A desire to engage with and support people who may have complex needs, particularly dementia
• Experience with dementia / vulnerable adults is desirable but not needed – come along and learn new skills!

We provide an Introduction to Dementia training and Food Hygiene training for volunteers.
