|Name:||Weekend Front of House volunteer|
|Organisation:||Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust|

This role is weekend based. We have availability for either flexible or regular shifts. The shifts are: 10am-1.30pm or 1.30pm-5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Since 1st January 1953 the Clifton Suspension Bridge has been managed and maintained by the Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust (CSBT), a not-for-profit charity. The Trust does not receive any local or national government funding but must raise monies to preserve the bridge in perpetuity to the highest possible standards. An Act of Parliament ensures that toll money collected from bridge crossings is used specifically to achieve this aim.
We have over half a million visitors to the bridge and over £3M vehicles crossing the bridge each year. To provide our visitors from all over the world chance to learn about the history of the bridge a Visitor Centre was opened in 2015. The Centre is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who run the Front of House desk, guide tours and deliver education workshops. We are currently looking for help to run the front of house during the weekend.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge, spanning the picturesque Avon Gorge, is the symbol of the city of Bristol. For almost 150 years this Grade I listed structure has attracted visitors from all over the world.
The bridge joins Bristol and North Somerset and is owned and operated by Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust. It is entirely funded by tolls - which have paid for its upkeep since it first opened to the public on 8th December 1864. We are open and manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year. Visitors are welcome at any time and our Visitor Centre (in Leigh Woods) is open from 10am to 5pm every day (excluding Christmas and New Year).
The Centre contains information about the competition to design the bridge, its construction and completion and how it is maintained today. You can watch a DVD about the bridge, see objects from our collection (including stereoscopic images and original souvenirs) and browse our shop, where you'll find books, postcards and souvenirs.
