Routine and familiarity are important for people living with dementia so we are looking for people who are able to volunteer regularly on a weekly basis on a Wednesday or Thursday morning )10am and midday) for a minimum of 6 months.

St Monica Trust is inviting volunteers to help with the Blossom Project, the new befriending project at St Monica Trust's specialist dementia service in Sandford, Winscombe. You will help residents living with dementia to live fuller lives and improve mental and social well-being through regular companionship and activities.
The St Monica Trust volunteer team is made up of 120+ people from all walks of life.
Providers of accommodation and support for older people to enable them to live independent, dignified and fulfilled lives.

*No previous experience
*Reliability - able to volunteer on a regular basis
*Empathy, interest and adaptability to the needs of people living with dementia. *A willingness to learn about dementia including creating a positive environment for people to blossom and flourish
*Willingness to work as part of a team
*A willingness to attend induction and group support/training sessions (included in the 2 hours weekly volunteering)
